Manage Project Resources
You can assign a project team to a project and then schedule time against those resources. This is most appropriate for Customer and Internal projects. For Management projects such as Administration, you don't necessarily need to assign resources and schedule time; you could just enter actuals on a timesheet.
All users created in the system are also available as Resources. Resources provide a different view of a user appropriate to project resourcing and scheduling. Workup allows you define and tracking working hours and availability for each resource.
Add a Resource to a Project
Resources can be added to a project on the Resources tab on the appropriate Project Overview page. Press the Add Resource button to open the Add Resource dialog. This allows you to add a resource to the current project; the fields you can enter here are:
- Resource Name: select the resource you want to add to a project
- Project Role: describe their role on the project eg Project Manager or Business Analyst
- Project Day Rate: enter a rate for the resource to use for activity and project billing (if project resource rate is selected as the billing rate on the activity)
- Add To Schedule: if this is selected a set of additional fields appear allowing you to set a default schedule for the resource on the project. Here you can schedule time for a date range, specifiying which days of the week to schedule and time per day to schedule.

Once the resource is added then they are listed on the Resources section for the project. From here you can see details of the resource and click through to their profile page or their Resource detail page where you can view availability etc. You can also remove a resource from a project but any time already scheduled for the resource will not be removed.
