Workup has a comprehensive module for managing people and supports the key HR activities needed within a business. The people management module is designed to be used by all employees in an organisation; not just the HR department. Workup provides a great set of self-service options for every employee and also provides features to enable managers to manage their team effectively.

Workup provides a comprehensive leave management capability to track all types of leave for every employee. Employees can request leave or record sickness; this can then be approved and tracked by a manager. Workup automatically calculates each employee's entitlements, either based on their contract or using system defaults.

The organisational hierachy can be managed by creating departments. The department structure can be defined hierachically and each employee can be assigned to a department. This allows the full organisation structure to be defined.
๐๏ธ Employee Roles and Skills
Workup allows employees and manage to assign skills to an employee to get a rich understanding of the employee's capabilities. These skills could be technical, business, personal, management or any type of skill that is relevant. Skills can be grouped into categories for ease of organisation. When assigning a skill to an employee, you determine the level of capability for that skill which can be Basic, Good, Advanced, Expert.
๐๏ธ Managing the Employee Lifecycle
Workup allows you to manage the full employee lifecycle of all employees within your company. This is primarily managed through events; events are based on customisable Event Types which can be defined for lifecycle events for an employee; these can include events such as New Starter, Leaver, Promotion, Appraisal, Role Change etc. You can define these types of event and any workflow associated with the event type.

The Skill Matrix page allows you to view skill sets across all your employees. The matrix shows which employees have which skills and what their competency level is. You can filter the list of employees by department and business role. You can filter the list of skills shown by category. Each category is collapsible.
๐๏ธ Manage Contracts and Payments
Workup allows to manage contracts for each employee, whether they are full-time, part-time or contractors. You can define contract templates that define the set of key properties of an employee contract, and create a contract for an employee based on this template. As the employee progresses through the organisation you can update or assign a new contract to the employee. Documents can also be stored securely in Workup for templates and individual contracts.

Workup provides a range of tools to allow a manager to manage their team. The main page to be used is the Team Status page. This provides a summary of information about the status of employees in your team.
๐๏ธ Define Organisation Structure
Workup allows you to both manage the structure of departments within an organisation as well as all the reporting lines within the organisation. In the future Workup will allow you to view and maintain the organisation structure visually.
๐๏ธ Manage Locations
For organisations that have multiple locations, these can be created within Workup. Departments and employees can be assigned to a default location.
